Gecko Group worked closely with the board of directors and the management team at The Concord Grape Visitor’s Center to create a visitor experience that is both eductional and nostalgic. The Grape Discovery Center exhibition provides visitors of all ages with an introduction to four primary aspects of the Lake Erie grape growing region: Terroir (A Sense of Place), Growing and Harvesting, Products and Processing, and lastly, Markets and Marketing. Through dynamic graphics, engaging text, and compelling interactives, visitors are taken on a journey connecting grapes (especially Concord grapes) with elements of history, geology, geography, culture, science, and engineering. This dynamic exhibit includes interactivity with both high-tech and hands-on low-tech. Visitors participation is encouraged through the design of a memory sharing area.
